Hi, I'm Dr Hayley Waller, General Surgeon. People often ask me about why would I spend years and years becoming a surgeon and sacrifice a lot of time. The answer always comes pretty easy for me: He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata It is people, it is people, it is people. I love my job and every interaction I have with my patients is a blessing and an honour.
I'm a New Zealand trained General Surgeon, and during my surgical training, I worked in a number of hospitals and trained with some amazing surgeons who are specialists in various surgical treatments in Nelson, Tauranga and the Hawkes Bay. My surgical training also took me to the beautiful Emerald Isles - Ireland. I was the breast and endocrine fellow at St Vincents and enjoyed the challenges.
I'm big on understanding your story and how I can help you with your healthcare. My focus is, and will always be, treating you with respect, skill and making sure you're comfortable. If you ever need me to help you with your healthcare, simply ask your GP, and get them to refer you, to me - Dr Hayley Waller.
